This fair sized Michigan inland lake of over 150 acres is largely undeveloped with only a small number of homes. This scenic lake is only a very small picture of what Michigan may have looked like before there were expressways, cities and development. The state of Michigan maintains a small, hard surface boat launch with parking for only a few cars. There are no restroom at this site. The launch is rather shallow and suitable only for smaller watercraft. If you drive down Cascade Road often, you will know it is rare to see the lake without at least one fisherman. That tells us that this is a good fishing spot! One interesting thing about this lake is that the state owns 33 acres on the Eastern side with more than 1300 feet of lake frontage. With fall comes, remember Pratt Lake. This is an ideal location to enjoy some of Michigan’s beautiful fall colors.

 Poor Boat Slip access

The access point to Pratt Lake is over grown with lily pads and weeds where it seems inaccessible for a pontoon or and other watercraft. There does not appear to be a loading dock to tie off to or allow passengers to get on their watercraft. Its unfortunate we wont be able to enjoy this inland lake close to our home because we dont have a way to access it.

Pratt Lake is located in eastern Lowell Township in eastern Kent County. It is just inside the county line, 2.5 miles east from the Alden Nash/ M50 exit on US 96 and west of Deer Run Golf Course.
