Description: Van Auken Lake is located in Van Buren County, near Bangor Michigan, Northeast of Rusk lake (117 acres). This spring fed Michigan lake consists of 244 acres of surface waters, with reported depths of 45 feet. Van Auken Lake wake hours are 11 – 7. The public access site which includes a hard surfaced ramp, parking, and restrooms is located on the East side of Van Auken Lake, off County Road 376. Fishermen report catches of Bluegill, Crappie, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. Van Auken Lake is 118 miles from Chicago, 76 miles from Elkhart and 59 miles from South Bend, 45 minutes to Kalamazoo. |
