Description: Hubbard Lake is located in Caledonia, Alcona, and Hawes Townships in Alcona County in Northern Michigan. This Michigan lake consists of 8,850 acres of surface waters and is seven miles long (North to South) and two miles wide (East to West). It has a maximum depth of 85 feet with an average depth of 32.6 feet.

Hubbard Lake was once known as the Bottomless Lake. It was also known as Coral Lake and Alcona Lake. In 1867, the name was named to Hubbard Lake in honor of Dr. Bela Hubbard, who was a prominent geologist in the state of Michigan.

It is among the 12 largest inland lakes in Michigan.

There are seasonal cottages and year round homes along the lake front.

Fishermen on Hubbard Lake report catches of Bass, Yellow Perch, Northern Pike, Tiger Muskie, Trout and Walleye.
